Salil Munjal

Salil joined Yaletown in 2010 and contributes over 20 years of experience in Canada’s private and public markets as an investor and executive who has helped to grow numerous successful technology companies. Salil led Yaletown’s emerging-growth investment in Bit Stew, which was acquired by GE Digital in 2016. He also leads Yaletown’s investments in Vizimax and Solegear. Earlier in his career, Salil was President and COO of Leitch Technology where he helped to grow the Canadian public company to more than a thousand employees with six global offices. Leitch was acquired for $600 million by Harris Communications (now Imagine). Salil also served as managing director at Counsel Corporation, a diversified mid-market private equity firm based in Toronto and New York. He began his career as a corporate finance lawyer at Torys LLP.

In 2016-2017, Salil also chaired the TMX-backed Advanced Innovation Roundtable which delivered recommended actions to increase access to growth capital for Canadian technology companies as they progress beyond the seed and start-up stages.

Terry Jones

Terry Jones is best known for founding Travelocity.com and serving as founding Chairman of Kayak.com.

Terry spent 24 years at American Airlines in marketing and information technology, capping his career as Chief Information Officer of its SABRE division. While at SABRE he led a team of six working on a project that became Travelocity.com. Jones served as CEO of Travelocity for seven years transforming it to a public company with three billion dollars in travel sales. He left Travelocity when the company was taken private and became part of the founding team at Kayak.com, a company that yet again revolutionized how travel was purchased. He served as Chairman of the company from its founding until it was sold to Priceline for $1.8 billion dollars in 2013.

Today he is the Chairman of Wayblazer and managing principal of ON Inc, a consultancy he founded to help companies in their transition to the digital economy.

Terry currently serves on the boards of Wayblazer, Boingo, Smart Destinations and The Camping and Education Foundation. He is also a venture capitalist with General Catalyst Partners and Sierra Angels.

Alex Clark

Alex Clark is a seasoned technology innovator and a leading expert in embedded software, massively parallel compute-architectures, service oriented technologies, enterprise class computing, and building high-performance, secure, scalable and distributed solutions. Alex studied aerospace engineering at San Jose State University and has authored numerous publications and patents.

Alex was co-founder of Bit Stew Systems Inc. and was responsible for developing the initial software that has evolved into MIx Core with a focus on real-time analytics, complex data integration and artificial intelligence. Bit Stew was ranked as one of the Top 100 Analytics Companies and Top 100 IoT Start-ups by Forbes Magazine and in November 2016, was bought by GE Digital for $207.5 million.

He was also Chief Technology Officer with Navio Systems in Silicon Valley and led the technical vision for the company’s award-winning and patented rights-based commerce technology. Prior to Navio, Alex was Chief Software Architect for B3 Security Corp., where he conceptualized and built the company’s secure, distributed and real-time transaction processing system. Alex was named to Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2015 for his leadership and technology innovation.
